Poet, Writer, Performer

Simone wrote compulsively throughout childhood and
adolescence, then stopped. She started again late in
2004 on a boring long-haul flight and now mostly writes
poems, but some short pieces of prose too.

Since the end of 2005, she's been longlisted,
shortlisted, commended and placed in various
competitions, been published in anthologies, (Leaf
Books, Winchester, Ragged Raven, Cinnamon Press),
and in magazines, (Carillon, Envoi, Iota, Roundyhouse,
The New Writer). She won three competitions in 2007.
Simone runs a local writers' group, is a member of
another, co-hosts a monthly spoken word open-mic
night, regularly reads at others and takes part in the
occasional slam.

After a long time on the other side of the Severn Bridge,
Simone has now returned to West Wales, which she
adores, even though the mud is ruining her heels…She
loves poetry both on page and stage, Springer Spaniels,
sharp-witted men, films beginning with the letter 'C' and
people-watching.
